Can you provide a price quote for a long crack over the phone?
Yes, we provide estimates based on the details you provide regarding the crack’s length and nature. Please note that these are estimates; if the damage on-site differs from the description provided over the phone, the price may be adjusted accordingly.
Can I get a long crack repaired on a rental vehicle or a lease return?
Generally, no. Rental companies and lease inspectors usually do not accept long crack repairs and will charge the customer for a full dealer-priced replacement. We always ask this during our initial assessment to ensure you aren’t paying for a repair that won’t satisfy your contract requirements.
Is a long crack repair always worth it?
It depends on your specific situation. We begin by asking qualifying questions over the phone—such as the crack’s length and if it falls within your direct line of sight—to provide an initial estimate of whether repair is a viable option. We strongly recommend repairing original factory windshields whenever possible to maintain your factory seal. Even if the cost of a high-quality repair approaches the cost of an inexpensive replacement, saving your original factory glass is frequently the better long-term choice. We evaluate each crack on-site to provide a final recommendation based on the crack’s placement and projected longevity.
What is the ideal length for a long crack repair?
For the best results, we prefer cracks of 6 inches or less. We can effectively stabilize cracks up to 12 inches, but we evaluate all damage on-site to ensure it is structurally eligible for repair.
Will the damage completely disappear?
No repair makes a break 100% invisible. For standard chips, professional repairs usually reduce optical visibility by 70% to 90%. However, for long crack repairs, the entire line will remain visible from the interior of the vehicle, often appearing as fine as a hair. From the exterior, the crack often becomes nearly invisible at most angles, but the interior view will still show the line of the repair.
Is there a warranty on your repairs?
Yes. Standard chips under 1 inch carry a Lifetime Warranty. Single-line cracks 6 inches or less carry a 3-Year Warranty. Medium chips (1 to 1.5 inches) and Large chips (1.5 to 2 inches) are also covered by a 3-Year Warranty. Multi-directional splits or corner-impact cracks are evaluated case-by-case.
